A Bright Future for the Fraser Coast – Economic Development and Tourism

We’re thrilled to welcome Justine Cooper, newly appointed Executive Manager – Economic Development and Tourism for the Fraser Coast Regional Council, and Martin Simons, General Manager of Fraser Coast Tourism and Events, as our guest speakers at the upcoming Breakfast on May 1, 2024.

Justine’s and Martin’s combined expertise will shed light on the intertwined relationship between tourism and economic development – a vital force driving prosperity and sustainability in regional economies like the Fraser Coast. Tourism not only generates jobs and revenue but also fuels investments in critical infrastructure and services. By harnessing these synergies correctly, the aim is to diversify our economy, uplift livelihoods, foster community cohesion, and ensure the long-term growth of the region.

Join us for this insightful breakfast event as we delve into how our peak tourism body, and local government economic development unit, plan to showcase tourism in the region, increase visitation, and develop our events portfolio to build brand awareness and foster economic growth on the Fraser Coast in 2024.

Chamber breakfast proudly supported by  Fraser Coast Hospice

FRASER COAST HOSPICE is a 6 bed purpose built inpatient facility that offers a flexible client and family centred model of care. We provide fee-free care to anyone in our community over 18 years of age who has terminal illness. The Hospice provides a safe, welcoming space, where clients and loved ones can feel supported. We allow family members to resume their roles as spouse, child, parent or concerned friend, and step back from the role of carer, which many families can struggle to cope with. The caring role at the Hospice is shared with dedicated nursing staff, volunteers and other health professionals, such as general practitioners,  specialists and pastoral care. Fraser Coast Hospice also provides ongoing bereavement support and follow up for families as well as regular remembrance services

We will also be collecting gold coins for our Monthly Charity We’ve Got You Foundation

We’ve Got You Foundation is a not-for-profit that aims to explore and help solve the current issue of unmet health and transport needs, across the Fraser Coast.

Our concept helps people who have a special situation and need for urgent Medical-related Health Care and Transport, have Care Package or Transport Funding Approved, but could be waiting up to 12 months for their payments to start. We can also help people who have Medical Needs, but are unable to drive, or pay the Full Cost for trips to their appointments or need health care in the home.

Local health professionals have informed us there is unmet health and transport needs in an array of different health settings. We are working with the community to scope needs for community transport and health services in the Fraser Coast.
